Senior Texture/ Lookdev Artist

Job description

 Texture/Lookdev Artists are responsible for the creation of a diverse range of texture maps and apply into the lookdev required for cgi creatures, environment and props used in production. Working closely with modellers to create photo-real assets for high-end visual effects projects.


Key responsibilities:

Produce high quality texture maps for assets at their skill level.

Take textured models from the asset department and push shader qualities to an accepted level.

Maintain continual and efficient communication with the Modelling and Production departments.

Execute quality control of texture maps prior to publishing to ensure consistency.

Share workflow techniques, ideas & reference materials with the team.


Skills required:

Extensive knowledge and production experience of Mari and/or Substance Painter.

The ability to work within a team of other Texture Artists or independently.

Strong look development skills both artistically and technically with great experience and understanding of shading, rendering, colour, photography etc.

Knowledge of Houdini and Mantra.

Some experience with Mari, Zbrush, Mudbox, or other texture and normal/displacement map generation

A commitment to creative collaboration within the team and with other departments.

Creative problem-solving skills

Some modelling/sculpt and lighting skills or experience
